Clinical Ladder Nursing Ratios Benefits Nursing Students About Lafayette

Clinical Ladder

At LGMC we reward nursing expertise and professionalism. Knowledge, comprehension and performance in the application of the nursing process are what differentiate the level of nurse practice.

The Clinical Ladder is an evaluation and advancement system that offers the registered nurse opportunities for clinical advancement, development of leadership capabilities and provision of continuing education. A financial reward system parallels demonstrated ability in these areas.

Objectives of Clinical Ladder

  • To acknowledge advancing clinical expertise and simultaneously increase responsibility for quality direct patient care.
  • To appropriately utilize and reward the education, experience and performance of each registered nurse.
  • To foster increasing responsibility and independence in the registered nurse's growth and practice.
  • To create clinical advanced practice and management opportunities for the career-minded professional through clinical ladder levels separated by preparation, expertise and salary.
  • To apply each level to all areas of clinical nursing.
  • To improve staff recruiting, development, retention and job satisfaction as well as maintain market competitive compensation.
  • To promote and uphold LGMC's mission and goals through professional practice.
